100% Audio Sh#t

Ryan's creative juices continue to pour on. He called it "100% Audio Sh#t." He said it's for those who are pretending to rockers who are all attitude and looks but no voice to back it up.

Cosplay Concept

Sometimes we fancied joining some cosplay contest. But it is hard to find some character that would fit our build so sometimes we take it out on some of our coworkers.

Joey Male works on our digital stripping department. You might have seen him in the last page of Break Out Comics Special #2. He fashioned an optic visor (just like the one used by Cyclops of ther X-men) from styrofoam pagkaging. It got Ryan and Dondon's attention and made him their "cosplay" model. Below is a series of pictures in the making of the "New Cyclops."

Initial Character Design

Adonis de Leon (artist, "Banana Conflict") was thinking for an entry for the art contest by Groundbreakers, Inc.. He came with this inital sketch design, Now he doesn't want to enter it in the contest and wanted to make it also as an online comics character. I think we'll have a discussion about how we are going to approach these new projects of ours.

Another One from Ryan Francisco

Truly when inspiration comes, it overflows. I recommended Ryan Francisco (artist of "Me and My Ghost Friend Musashi") to join an art contest. The image above is one of the backgrounds he was thinking of using. It's a transformable mecha and just one of three robots that will form a much powerful and bigger mecha robot. Ryan has always been fascinated with space and its exploration by the human race.
He's also thinking in making it an online comics which is not a bad idea.

Update on the Komiks Congess (Kongreso ng Komiks)

You can go to the following sites to get an inside look at the recently concluded Kongreso ng Komiks. They were part of organizing committee so they are more credible to report about it.

Randy Valiente
John Becaro

You can go to Azrael Colladilla's site to download the eye-opening PowerPoint presentation made by Randy Valiente about the history, current state, and challenges ahead for the komiks industry. You can also view some of the pictures he's taken about the event.

I was frustrated at first at the pace of the congress. It already started late and many of the attendees were not able to say what they wanted to voice out due to lack of time. Plus, they should have told the attendees earlier that there was a need to select members for the interim secretariat so we could have gone on with the discussion. But that is how the system works. I am still interested in going to the next meeting on March 23.
